Thanks for stopping by!

I’m guessing you’re here to learn a little bit more about me and why I started AIM Advising.

I get asked one question all the time;

“Has it always been your dream to start AIM Advising?”

Well, the quick answer is no!

First, it's important for you to know I’m just a normal, sweatpants wearing, Netflix watching, puppy loving mom of a super handsome son (I'm not biased in saying that as his mom either!). I have some kick-ass days where I am so proud of myself and then I have days where I put a gallon of milk away in the linen closet.

I do not always have it all together.

But I make up for it with big smiles and an enormous passion for doing something good in this life (even if my milk is sitting next to my towels).
I’m just someone who ended up in a career that I never would have guessed I'd pursue if you would have asked me years ago. Way back then I didn’t have the tiniest inkling that working with people in their careers would be where I would land in my own career someday. No one likes looking for a job - why would I want to make a career out of getting people jobs and getting them where they want in their careers?

You see, I had one big problem in my young adult life when it came to my career: I had defined success by someone else's terms. From the outside looking in, my career in my early 30's looked like a huge success. The crazy part was I didn't feel successful at all.

I was good at my job but that didn’t feel like enough. Something was missing.

Have you ever felt that way? You can do the job and be successful by everyone else’s definition but something just isn’t right. I knew I could do something great but my work routine left me going home wondering if I'd made a difference at all. I didn't feel successful.

I was exhausted - I know so many of you have felt that same exhaustion of living a routine that hasn’t allowed you to reach your full potential for success but you're working your butt off. But, like many of you, I stayed in it because it was safe, predictable and stable. It seemed like the right choice.

I stayed in my safe and predictable career until life had other plans for me...

It took a series of "unfortunate events" to get me to where I am today. At the time, they each felt insurmountable on their own, let alone cramming them all together in a 2 year timeframe.

  • After 11 years of marriage my ex husband left and I became a single working mom.

  • I was diagnosed with a chronic illness.

  • I moved 1500+ miles for my dream job which didn't end up being what I wanted.

  • I got in a massive car wreck and totaled my car (not my fault!).

I'm not even going to pretend like I kept it all together and that I didn't spend a few nights (okay a lot of nights) crying myself to sleep thinking this isn't what my life was supposed to be! Ask my friends and family, I was a mess of confusion, sadness and chaos. But I finally realized I had everything I needed to be successful and I'd had it all along. The difference was now I was defining success in a far different way than what we're all taught to believe it is. It was a whole new world for me.

The new "success definition" was serving others.

Helping other people felt so freaking awesome. One by one the clients came looking for honest and authentic support in their careers. Team member by team member AIM Advising grew. And moment by moment we continue to be unbelievably grateful for the honor we have of working for thousands of clients now in over 15 countries around the world. Serving others has no boundaries or borders.

I still have some really awesome days and yes, I still have days where my milk is sitting next to my towels.

But I have a whole new definition of success and I'm lucky enough to have a team of people at AIM Advising who believe in that definition of success, too. I can't wait to see where your journey to success leads you and I hope you know that I truly and honestly am motivated by YOUR success.

Because supporting others is the greatest mission of all,
